News:

• Indian Government has reduced windfall gains tax on domestically produced crude oil to Rs 5,700 per tonne from Rs 8,400 per tonne.
• Acer has launched its consumer electronics brand Acerpure (starting with TVs) in India.
• Personal Computers(PC) sales in India rose by 2.6% year-on-year in the Jan-Mar quarter: IDC.

Stock Updates:

• M&M: the company will invest Rs 12,000 crores in its electric business MEAL over the next 3 years. And reported a net profit increase of 32% to Rs. 2,038 crores for the Jan-Mar quarter. Declared a dividend of Rs. 21.10 per share.
• TVS Motors: started operations in Italy, the company plans to introduce both electric and petrol scooters & motorcycles.
• GAIL: reported a net profit increase of 260.70% to Rs. 2,176.97 crores for the Jan-Mar quarter.
• HAL: reported a net profit increase of 52% to Rs. 4,309 crores for the Jan-Mar quarter. Fresh orders worth Rs 19,000 crore received in the financial year 2024.
• Apollo Tyres: recorded a fall in the net profit by 13.70% year-on-year to Rs. 354 crores in the Jan-Mar Quarter. Dividend of Rs. 6 per share.
• L&T: L&T Valves Ltd has set up a new manufacturing facility in Saudi Arabia.
• Biocon: recorded a fall in the net profit by 57% year-on-year to Rs. 135 crores in the Jan-Mar Quarter. Final Dividend of Rs. 0.5 per share.
• Reliance Industries: sold its REC Solar Norway AS to an OSLO-BASED firm for $ 22 million, Reliance Retail signed a partnership with a UK-based ASOS to start its operations in India.
• Vedanta: plans to raise Rs 8,500 crores. Dividend of Rs. 11 per share. Record Date: 25 May, 2024.
• Adani Energy: acquired Essar Transco Ltd. for Rs. 19,000 crores, Acquisition adds 673 km of 400kV inter-state transmission line to the company.
