OxygenOS: 5 things that need to change
Oneplus phones have been with us for a long long time and based on the
information and consumer reviews one of the most important factors has been
the great Oneplus' OxygenOS. OxygenOS is
great but still, it has its flaws that are considerate to some class of
users. So we discuss one by one the 5 things that we could point out.
1.Dark Mode
In most of the other android skins like the OneUI, MiUI, and even Stock Pixel
Skin their also see that the Dark Mode can either be enabled manually using
the Notification Shade or enabled to work automatically in
relation to the battery or the time through the settings. On the other hand,
for turning on the dark mode on the OnePlus devices, we have to go to
Settings > Customisations > Change theme to Dark or with the Tone
option.
We think it can be annoying to users because of us tend to go the
Settings > Display and the second reason can be that there is
no quick toggle in the Notification Shade to switch it on.
2.OxygenOS launcher
As most people do actually use the OxygenOS launcher but there has been a
feature that is missed by some of the consumers. The option to
select multiple apps on Home Screen. As on provided by other
vendors like Xiaomi, Samsung, and various others, you can actually select
multiple apps and with that, you can either use the functionality to delete
multiple applications at once or with that you can even make them combined
into a folder.
3.One-handed mode
Whether you talk about it or not but all the OnePlus phones are either getting
tall or big in size, leading to a problem faced some of the users that they
can't easily operate the phone using one hand, which actually makes you think
about having a One-handed mode could be helpful hand from OnePlus. Even the
OnePlus' Beta build had one of those but it was more like
iOS's Reachability feature and even after that the same was
removed from the final update. We hope if OnePlus ever brings the feature to
its phone it may be like the one that Motorola provides that actually
minimizes the UI rather than just giving us lesser form factor to play with
like in iOS.
4.Hidden Space
Unlike the others we discussed above this has been a feature in OnePlus's
phone but if OnePlus wanted the same can be used for more things than it is
used for now.
Like today if you use
the OnePlus Hidden Space mode you can reach to it using two methods:
1. You can pinch out the home screen, or
2. You can go to the application drawer and then swipe
right.
You can even lock the same for extra layer security. But if you think the
latter can be used for securing either some data of the users like Photos,
PDFs, Documents.
5.Full-screen bug
On the latest OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro, there is a bug in the software that
doesn't let you pressure the applications to the real estate of the phone.
Where in the list of the applications, the apps like Netflix and others
come. Where you see the two weird bars come on the screen that really makes
you feel like you are using a Pixel 3.
