FSSAI
Word of the Day

Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) is the regulatory body for food safety.

Anyone who manufactures, stores, transports, or distributes food for commercial purposes needs to take a licence from FSSAI.

That means, all FMCG companies in India need a licence from FSSAI.

FSSAI checks whether these players are following the guidelines set by the authorities and grants the licence only after their quality check is done.
